Updated Information on Registration for the English Proficiency Test (CET-4 and CET-6)
Dear students,
We are pleased to inform you that the registration process for the upcoming English Proficiency Test (CET) has been updated with important changes. As the CET-4 and CET-6 exams play a crucial role in assessing your English language skills, it is vital that you are aware of the latest information regarding registration. This notice aims to provide you with the necessary details to ensure a smooth and successful application process.
1. Registration Dates:
The registration period for the CET-4 and CET-6 exams will commence from July 20th, 2023, and conclude on August 10th, 2023. Please make sure to complete your registration within this specified timeframe. Late entries will not be accepted.

To streamline the registration process and enhance convenience, the CET committee has migrated the registration system online. From this year onwards, all students intending to take the CET-4 and CET-6 exams must register through the official website (www.cet.gov.cn). Please note that paper-based registrations will no longer be accepted.
3. Updated Requirements:
In response to feedback from students and educators alike, the CET committee has revised the eligibility criteria for the CET-4 and CET-6 exams. Starting from the current exam cycle, students must meet the following requirements to be eligible for registration:
- CET-4: only third-year undergraduate students and above are allowed to register for the CET-4 exam. Students in their third year or above of junior college education are also eligible.
- CET-6: only fourth-year undergraduate students and above are allowed to register for the CET-6 exam. Students in their third year or above of junior college education are also eligible.
4. Registration Fee:
The registration fee for both the CET-4 and CET-6 exams remains unchanged. A fee of 100 RMB per exam will be required at the time of registration. Payments can be made online via the official website. No cash payments will be accepted.
5. Confirmation Slip and Examination Location:
Upon completing the registration process, students will receive a confirmation slip via email. This slip will contain vital information, including the examination date, time, and location. It is essential to keep this confirmation slip safe, as it will serve as your entry ticket on the day of the exam.
We urge all students intending to take the CET-4 and CET-6 exams to review and comply with the updated registration procedures. Failure to meet the requirements or complete the registration within the specified dates will result in your exclusion from the examination.
